Midi-ASCape Woodworking sessions are small-group woodworking sessions for Autistic and socially anxious children aged 8–12. These 90-minute sessions are designed specifically for children who may find mainstream activities overwhelming, offering a calm, supportive and sensory-aware environment.
Led by experienced facilitators, children will be introduced to simple hand tools and natural materials, with clear guidance and flexibility to work at their own pace. Sessions are child-led, encouraging creativity, curiosity and confidence, with opportunities to design and make small wooden items.
Group sizes are limited to ensure each child feels safe, understood and able to participate comfortably. The sessions provide a rare opportunity for neurodivergent children to try something new, build practical skills and experience a sense of achievement.
ASCape is a charity supporting Autistic and socially anxious children and young people and their families: www.ASCapegroup.org
